Active Server Pages, a microsoft server side technology which is used on iis web servers on a windows platform. ASP allows the use of server side programmed content to be included in a web page. For example this code < %=DateTime.Now% > when placed in an asp page on a properly configured iis server will show the time on the web server to the visitor. Note that a client side script would show the time on the user's computer which may be different.
